I-Tower, form follows time

Just a few blocks from Gangnam's dense business district, I-Tower is nestled between a small park to the north and mid-rise buildings to the south. In accordance with street shadow regulations, we connected key street shadow points to form a sloping facade, which not only satisfied zoning rules but also achieved a sculptural quality building mass.

As the headquarter of a digital media marketing agency, I-TOWER needed a special building that was symbolic and landmark, without sacrificing the fluidity and flexibility of the space. In this building, the flexibility of function, efficiency and program is complementary to the form of symbol. The building’s volume, its contrasting appearance, and its rigid material, form a classical image. The variability of the internal space further ensures that the function "advances with the times".

Internal and external, lasting images and momentary changes, all coexist paradoxically and are symbols of this era. The core concept of this building is no longer the "form follows function" advocated by traditional modernism, but a new "form follows time".
