CHIASMUS PARTNERS, INC. was established in 2005 with offices in Beijing, Seoul, Newport Beach in California and Milan, Italy.
Chiasmus considers every project as an opportunity to unlock the potential of each controversy. Rather than being conventionally interpreted as a relationship between cause and effect, conflict and resolution can be described as the process of a building being created and intervened on a "strategic construction site."
We believe that as the boundaries between form and content gradually blur, the spatial and structural characters of each building are inseparable from its function and meaning. We believe that everyone lives in a specific time and space as an individual, but the experience of human beings as a whole is becoming more and more similar. We believe that every place has something to be proud of, and that every building we create has the ability to protect, transform and emphasize the important values of its place.
With rich experience, we have strong will to meet challenges, by exploring and researching the controversies brought by different projects. There are no "normal questions" or "fixed answers" for us. Each project is a new invitation to us - an opportunity for creative interpretation, critical planning, careful strategy, and technical innovation.
In an age of imitations and indifference, we see projects as opportunities to untap the potential inherent within each site and program. Conflicts and resolutions are not conceived as causes and effects in a prescriptive manner, but rather as strategic “grounds” upon which an architecture of invention and intervention takes place.
We believe in the merging of form and content.
We believe in the authentic human experience, rooted in a specific place and time.
We believe in the magic ability of architecture to transform and intensify the essential qualities human experiences.
We believe in:
Real Beauty. Real Construction. Real Space. Real Fantasy. Real Dreams. We will make the world a better place than when we found it.
