Jinyu Intelligent Manufacturing Factory: revitalizing and transforming

In collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Government and one of the largest state-owned construction material companies in China, we transformed a 170,000-square-meter furniture construction factory, traditionally one of the most polluting and environmentally unfriendly industries, into a high-tech robot research and development center to meet the needs of emerging industries.

We built an elevated walkway to connect the factories in all directions, similar to the "High Line" in Chelsea, New York. On the premise of preserving the original historical memory of the factory, the flexibility in the layout of the factory's public spaces and internal streets is infinitely extended.

Jinyu Hi Tech Manufacturing Center is tailored to robotics and high tech companies. Architecturally, we did not pursue large- scale demolition and reconstruction. Instead, we retain the architectural form of the old factory by effectively upgrading and transformation.

A variety of design elements are used to create an industrial style that is in line with high-precision industries, simple and elegant. The elevated walkways enhance the three-dimensional sense of the buildings, reinforcing the connection and interaction between the buildings, to make them more attractive and energetic. The park adopts an ultra-low FAR design for providing people with an eco-friendly and comfortable working environment.
